The YEA! high school program is open
to students in grades 9-12. Taught by an entrepreneurial-minded teacher, the
class is designed to run on your school’s schedule over an academic year. This
class is currently offered as a credit-bearing elective. Over the course of the
year, students brainstorm business ideas, write business plans, pitch those
plans to “investors” for funding, participate in trade shows, and actually
launch their own REAL businesses or social movements. In addition, students
file DBA paperwork, get an EIN number, open a bank account, work with
professionals to create marketing materials and websites, and interact with the
business community.
Business professionals visit the
class on a regular basis. They act as mentors and guest speakers on topics
ranging from taxes to social entrepreneurship, sales to insurance.
YEA! is a great way to involve your
alumni, faculty, staff and the community in your school! It helps to build
strong connections with the business community, and encourages creativity and
flexibility in your school. It is an immediate deployment of entrepreneurship
training.
The YEA! program package includes
all of the resources necessary to successfully run YEA! at your school. This
turnkey approach allows you to easily introduce, market, and teach your own
successful entrepreneurship training program for young people.
