The YEA! college program is open to
students in grades 6-12. Taught by an
entrepreneur, class meets one day a week, after school, for three hours. Over the course of the year, students
brainstorm business ideas, write business plans, pitch those plans to
“investors” for funding, participate in trade shows, and actually launch their
own REAL businesses or social movements.
In addition, students file DBA paperwork, get an EIN number, open a bank
account, work with professionals to create marketing materials and websites,
and interact with the business community.
Business professionals visit the
class on a regular basis. They act as
mentors and guest speakers on topics ranging from taxes to social
entrepreneurship, sales to insurance.
YEA! is a great way to involve your
alumni, faculty, staff and donors as volunteers! It is also a great way to connect in with
admissions, alumni, and various departments across campus.
The YEA! program package includes
all of the resources necessary to successfully run YEA! at your school. This turnkey approach allows you to easily
introduce, market, and teach your own successful entrepreneurship training
program for young people.
